OTTAWA FIGHTING BEAVERS TRANSACTION REPORT!

Regular season Week 5: Traded OG Johnny Napalm to the Tromso Storm for a 6th-round pick in season 5.

Note: Yup! That's a ways down the road! But after agreeing on a season 4 draft choice, it was determined that that pick had already been traded earlier by the Storm. Tromso didn't feel Napalm was worth a 5th-rounder, so a compromise was reached.

Regular season Week 2: Obtained DT Mitchell Hicks from the DC Capital Punishment for DB's Alexander Beetle and Lars Mohican.

Note: The Beavers DL was great on the edges, soft in the middle, so Hicks was picked up to take up a little room.

Regular season Week 1: Signed RB Nick Appleton, DT James Longstreet and LB Preacher Lazariah.

Note: James Longstreet was picked up off waivers from the Richmond Rebels, joining D.H. Hill, Bill Anderson and William Loring as former Rebel players on the Beavers. They've since started to refer to themselves as the "Forgotten Rebels", after the punk band of the same name, because they are all outcasts from the Season 2 champions mostly as a result of a numbers crunch. Cut for the sake of the acquisition were RB Winston Watoowat, DT Ken Clean System and LB Chas Titty-Belt.

Season 3 Training Camp: Signed free agent FB Max Webster and TE Al Berta.

Note: More youngsters with down-the-road potential. They replaced FB Scotty "Bulldog" Olson and TE Vim Fuego.

Season 3 Training Camp: Signed free agents RB Harley Quinn and QB Ed Monton.

Note: Also done in the week leading up to the season opener. Dropped were DT Phat Tuboshitt and LB Randy Marathon.

Season 3 Training Camp: Signed free agent WR Joseph Halfbat.

Note: Intended to be a kick returner and 3rd or 4th WR. Appears to be homesick as his relatives within the league are playing for the Tromso Storm. This move was made between preseason week 3 and regular season week 1. TE Colin Grigson was dropped to make room on the roster.

Season 3 Training Camp: Obtained FB Christine Okoye from the Portsmouth Plankton for LB Wolfgang Ulrich.

Note: The Plankton actually made first contact for this one. When Coach Canuck took over the Fats, Minnesota had 11 linebackers on their roster. Ulrich was among the better ones but because the defense was so far ahead of the offense, Canuck decided to go ahead with the trade.

Season 3 Training Camp: Traded 3rd-round in season 4 to the Richmond Rebels for OG William Loring.

Note: The Captain was growing frustrated with the middle of the offensive line and was eager to make such a move. Loring became a fixture at right guard and helped decrease the pressure on the QB.

Season 3 Training Camp: Came to terms with six free agents- QB Chukah Khan, RB Cal Gary, FB Dennis Legbreak, WR D.H. Hill, CB Gobo and S "Bloody" Bill Anderson.

Note: Coach Canuck referred to this shopping spree as making up for not getting to draft for themselves. The Fats were sold after the draft had already taken place. The players were signed between games two and three of the three-week preseason.
